Makrolon 2858 is a medium viscosity polycarbonate (PC) grade. Is suitable for EtO and steam sterilization at 121°C. Exhibits easy release, high heat resistance, good toughness, good dimensional stability, high creep modulus and good electrical insulation properties. Possesses good transparency, high impact strength and chemical and hydrolysis resistance. Products made from the grade provides durability, efficient reusability and energy and CO2 emission savings. Is suitable for processing by injection molding. 2858 is recommended for medical applications. Is biocompatible according to ISO 10993-1 test requirements.
