The course is aimed at illustrating the relevance and need for DigitalSignal Processing (DSP) techniques in present-day multimedia and
 communicationssystems, and giving an overview of some major DSP subdomains.
本课程在于阐述数字信号处理（DSP）技术与当今多媒体和通信系统的关联性及其需求性，以及概述DSP的主要子领域。

This course provides a brief review of signals and systems theory, andgives an introduction to a number of DSP topics such as filter design andrealization, multi-rate systems, filter banks, optimal and adaptive filters.The theory is illustrated by practical examples, in particular speech and audioapplications,
 as well as applications from digital communication.
首先课程将简要回顾信号和系统理论，然后将介绍DSP一系列的主题，如滤波器设计和实现、多速率系统、滤波器组、最优滤波和自适应滤波。

课程会结合实际的例子讲述理论，并特别强调语音和音频的应用和数字通信中的应用。
